India's mobile phone market continues to grow with the

The MSAI had initiated the appointment of genuine IMEI implantation centres at 1600 locations and the deadline for implementing genuine IMEI was December 1. Telecom providers had approached the government for some more days which were denied.
ACTING UNDER the DOT and COAI
directive, the Indian government has banned over 25 million Chinese handsets
having fake IMEI codes. This stands in contrast to the fact thatIndian telecom
retailers and manufacturers can continue imports of

Customs and Foreign Trade.
